A new study as part of the Global Urban Competitiveness Project ranks Toronto as the 11th most competitiveness city in the world. New York, London, Tokyo and Paris take 1234 of course, followed by Washington D.C. I was especially surprised by the fact that half of the top 20 cities were American, but that must come from being part of the largest economy in the world by far. The website looks a bit sketchy but it was cited in the Economist.

Houston, Philadelphia over Montreal?

Yea they're missing a ton of European / Oriental cities. Seems extremely biased toward America.

Then again I'm not sure what parameters they're using.

Then again, "competitive" might not be a good thing ... prices / inflation may have fallen a ton in those cities hence making them competitive, nike factories moving back to America :)
