U of T: Dept. of Astronomy and Astrophysics (50 St George St, ?s, Morphosis/Teeple)

I hate to be the one to bump a 5 year old thread without any news to share but I've been looking everywhere for information on this and have come up empty handed. @AlexBozikovic reported that a reputable firm got the job and @Northern Light shared the governing council's $3M consulting spend on moving the new planetarium ahead. It's been crickets since. Is this dead or just making its way through the bureaucratic molasses?

A preliminary search didn't pull up anything for me either.

Alex may have more insight.

But why not ask the department whatever happened to that project.....

I did email planetarium@astro.utoronto.ca last week. No response yet, I'll report back when/if they do. Maybe they don't know either 😅

This curiosity sparked from an interaction with a pair of students who ran over to pet my dog and I asked when their new planetarium was coming and they hadn't heard of it. To be fair, they were probably in grade school the last time there were any updates. And from the looks of it, they'll be earning their Nobel prize for observing the heat death of the universe by the time it's built.

I added some contacts above in an edit. (thought I'd put them in in my post, but the image was in stasis).

Try those.
