Toronto makes its Civilization debut in Civilization VI as a city

Yes, the latest instalment of the popular turn-based strategy game for the PC and Mac, Civilization VI, has a city state named Toronto: http://civilization.wikia.com/wiki/Toronto_(Civ6)

It is an industrial city state, which boosts production.

Its suzerainty bonus (when a civilization puts the most envoys in a city state) is that regional effects of industrial zone buildings and entertainment complex buildings have an additional +3 tile range over the base 6 tile range.

It now is a bonafide civ:

Not just that, but the civ is made by Firaxis themselves, which means that everyone with the Gathering Storm expansion pack will have Canada.

It's unfortunate, but Civ is marketed not necessarily to history buffs, but to the general public.
