Since this was essentially a reconstruction, I don't know why they didn't go back to the original brick facade. Stucco was added later. Those guard rails and brass kickplate are definitely a miss.

It's great to see the restoration of this mansion something that I once thought was not possible. Not once but twice arsonists tried to burn the mansion to the ground. I live not very far away and had a front row seat to both fires. It would be interesting to see inside this mansion. I suspect over 90% had to be rebuilt so I wonder how faithful the interior is to the original. They did a good job at least with the exterior.
