Large multi-tower development proposed adjacent to the future Heritage Heights GO Station in Brampton. More info on the front page:

The distance between Georgetown GO and Mount Pleasant GO is approximately 8km. The distance between Georgetown and the Heritage Heights GO would be similar to Mount Pleasant and Downtown Brampton GO stations at between 4-5km.

My first concern is that ML would potentially be running the Heritage Heights GO station at a loss for a few years, while Brampton Transit would have to also connect people from Heritage Heights to Mount Pleasant, similar to how they do with route 58 around Heritage/Embleton.

The second concern I have is whether or not ML is going to be laying additional rail in the CN corridor, and how close this project is to the rail corridor. I understand there are some easements, but I would expect that based on those easements that the project would try not to use the rail as an alignment for how the project is shaped.

The third concern and this is a big one to me would be where does a hospital play a role into this? We can't keep building housing if we don't have another hospital in the West end of Brampton to support the population growth. I know this isn't on the developers, but I can't keep supporting housing starts like this when our population climbs and our resources for healthcare continue to run thin.

HH GO is one of a half-dozen GO stations being "planned" by local municipalities with no buy-in from GO or Metrolinx whatsoever. This proposal is unlikely to happen and nor is the GO station. Metrolinx is the process of building a train storage yard here right now.. they have no plans for a station.

The Heritage Heights planning area is one of the most mismanaged planning files in the province right now and is comically poorly planned.

That's what I thought. The area that exists just west of this proposal in any case was intended to just be a layover for trains to speed up durations of trains west of Bramalea. I doubt it was ever intended to become a full GO station.

As I understand, the Heritage layover is also supposed to partially replace Georgetown yard, so it can finally be built as a proper through station.
