New mixed use development in Collingwood featuring three buildings 12 story mixed use Tower grocery store as well as a new restaurant space

It is however before work can begin on some of the other projects and Collingwood they need to resolve their water supply issue The new plant is currently under construction still have to create a thread for it

I see this as a massive way to take traffic off of highway 26 along the stretch of 1st Street as the current Starbucks creates standstill traffic for 2 hours stretch during the day as the drive-thru does not have the capacity to handle the traffic All in all I like everything about this project especially the 12th story apartment building

Wow...a park for cars! Who would of thought... /s

The public transport up here is very poor as well as we have no direct lines to Toronto resulting in majority of the people that come to Collingwood is driving Believe me I would love it for a second 12 story to be on this plot and half the amount of parking

Fair enough! But still... >.<

Public meeting Monday on major Hurontario St. development - Collingwood News https://share.google/4xBQBzenVIUdFruOa

Article involving this development from Collingwood today compared to the usual hate that these get not a lot of people actually complaining about this one main thing that they are all talking about is how it's a strip mall and Collingwood doesn't need another grocery store as a resident of that area this is literally the perfect spot for a no frills as anyone in nottawa or Duntroon are required to either go to the far end of Collingwood or the far end of Wasaga Beach either way from those locations you are looking at a 15 minute drive to get to any grocery store with zero public transport available in either of those areas

Any concern about the Costco opening in Wasaga Beach? Will that likely take a lot of business away from current grocery stores in Collingwood, plus this grocery store? Could it be too much?

I don't believe it will Wasaga Beach has more than doubled in population since Walmart was built which was the last grocery store to open in the area Collingwood also hasn't opened a new grocery store in upwards of 15 years since which they have more than doubled the population of the town The only thing on this build I can see getting pushed back is the 12 story as most locals are people who have moved up from Toronto to escape all the high-rises

My take from the rendering, with the green roofs of the cart paddocks and the green in the view of the proposed store (with no branding shown) would likely be either Sobeys or Food Basics
