Hello to all at the forum. I've been here for a short while now and thought this would be the right time to post something. This will be my first thread and my initial reason for joining this forum, to post our (my gf and I) trail walks around the GTA in picture and video form. We started walking the trails around the GTA two summers ago and started to take pictures of each outing. Eventually, with a new camera in hand that took video as well, we thought adding video to the mix would be a neat addition. The initial idea was to keep a sort of diary of our walks but then expanded to making some kind of a virtual tour of the trails we walked so that others with the same hobby, and looking for info on the trails, could have a good idea of what to expect should they decide to venture out there. It's funny because the recording of our walks has become the bigger hobby now than the actual walks.

Previous to all of this, I had often thought of where all of those trail entrances lead to when I would drive by on my way to work or wherever I was driving. Our first trail walk was at Stephen Drive at the entrance to South Humber Park which leads to the Humber Bay Arch Bridge at Lake Ontario. Maybe it's because it was our first one that makes this short trail so memorable, or simply because we had no idea it lead to the Humber Bay Arch Bridge (a really cool site when you turn the corner under the street bridge and see it without expecting it). Either way, this was the trail that made us want to find more, and we did, and will continue to do so.

Thanks and like I've said before, I get to see what I've been missing off the beaten path when I go on your adventures through your postings. There are at least 3 locations I routinely drive by where I used to wonder what was down there or where that creek went to, that I don't anymore due to your posts.

This next post begins at Humber Valley Drive and takes us to Old Mill Bridge along the Humber River Trail. I feel a real connection with the Humber. Maybe if I lived in the east end I'd feel the same about the Don River, but I don't, so the Humber it is. Anyway, this is why the entire Humber River Trail path I have been on is my favourite. It has a real energy and life to it and I guess I try to imagine all of the people past to present who have taken time to enjoy and make use of the Humber River. With progress and expansion, we build over forests and historical sites but the Humber is always there.
