Cambridge 255 King Street West | 61.6m | 16s | Auburn | Edge Architects

This one is back on the docket. Just to remove the holding provision.

Additionally, this is Auburn Developments. Not sure if they were operating as North Development Corp or what, but figured I'd make a note of it here. Unit count is now 590, database shows 579. From west to east, towers are now 15, 16, and 14 storeys. Previous site plan shows 17, 18, and 15, respectively. Here's an updated roof plan (de facto site plan) from the Noise and Vibration Study. I've taken the liberty of adding a portion of the Preston Springs site plan just for some context.

I think it's safe to say that this will likely be rentals now, considering it's Auburn. And the condo market is obviously still dead. Even if it's Auburn and the architecture is similarly bland (see Barrel Yards), I still think it's a positive to see any housing move forward in this city. Especially something denser.

Other than how the parking kinda sorta interfaces with Fountain St, I think it's a perfectly "okay" proposal and I'm excited to see something get moving here.

Happened to be in Preston this evening, so stopped and got some photos of the site.

This one turned out a bit blurry, but wanted this vantage point for future reference:

From the north edge of the site looking south just up Fountain, King St seen on the right:

From along Fountain looking southeast-ish, the western most of the 3 houses in the gap along Fountain on the site plan is seen on the left:

The works that have been completed thus far:

In 15 years it is going to be high rises from here to Oshawa all along the 401.

The public side of the Cambridge permit system is a mess to try to decipher anything from. They have a foundation permit in place, the exact extent of what that particular permit covers in terms of buildings isn't clear, based on the foundation works Building A and Building B are the two that are going to be going up first with Building C following later.
