Pre-Application Meeting for 1488 Queen Street West – February 20, 2020

The owners of the property at 1488 Queen Street West are looking to redevelop this property. Their proposal is to add a 6-storey building with residential units and ground-floor retail. The owners are hosting a pre-application Community Meeting on February 20, 2020 at 20 West Lodge Ave, 6:30-8:30pm. Councillor Perks and City Planning Staff will be in attendance.

Perfect spot for infill. There's actually quite a few in the immediate area - the Dollarama, the LCBO, that fenced off greenfield at Close Avenue, the Green P at Triller, the former U-Haul vacant lot, the Salvation Army plaza, etc...

From my understanding the Green P parking lot just east of the Dollarama will be part of the Parkdale Community Hub master plan. However, the actual building with Dollarama remains outside of the properties involved (for now). Agreed about the other lots mentioned, there's definitely a large amount of underutilized spaces along Queen West from Brock to Roncy.

Toronto needs hundreds more of these buildings. Good scale, Nice materials and a simple design that looks like it’ll be hard to execute poorly.
