For the second leg of my mini vacation we headed off to Patong Beach in Phuket for 3 nights. We stayed at the Patong Paragon, a fabulous hotel plagued by horrible service. It was right next to the beach. This is an area that was devastated by the Tsunami in '05 and lost many locals and tourists. It seems to have made a full recovery thankfully.
From the hotel room.
So cheap, makes me jealous.. That's about $.40 for a can of red bull...
The tuk-tuk, this guys will be offering you rides all day. They can be a neat way to get around, but if you're drunk watch out, they'll take you (and your wallet) for a ride.
The main party destination in Patong Beach.
Street performer, was quite good.
Lots of Koreans were there for some reason, they were all watching the Ladyboys do their thing on stage.
The ladyboys...
Just outside of my hotel.
Patong Beach, was nice but the water wasn't the cleanest.
Streets of Patong.
Muay Thai was incredible. The two kids wasted no time in trying to destroy each other, I felt uncomfortable watching them but no one got hurt and it made for great entertainment.
Time for some elephant riding...
Surin Beach was much nicer than Patong Beach... worth the tuk-tuk ride up.
Pepsi Green?
