Second hand bike stores

Interested in getting a good second-hand bike (I figure I am better off this way rather than paying for a cheap new one). I miss the bike I had (it busted), and would like to explore the ravines and trails now that I am in Toronto. Since I am near two bus routes with bike rack equipped buses, I figure this will be quite easy to do. I am also a bit unsure of what type of bike I should get - the one I had was a cheap hybrid. I will mostly use it on hard surfaces, but would also plan to use soft trails.

I am looking for a reputable dealer - I do not want to buy a stolen bike. Any recommendations?

Bikes on Wheels on Augusta sells some used bikes, and is reputable... I think Urbane Cyclist on John north of Queen does as well.

Urbane Cyclist was pretty good, though I haven't made up my mind yet. They had used and new, and the prices were pretty good for both. I felt like I was getting the straight talk from them about what would be best for what I wanted.
