Play the Heritage Game!

Below I've included 10 photos, labelled A through J. If you are inclined, make a guess as to which of these properties is listed on Toronto's Inventory of Heritage Properties (I've made no distinction between designated or merely listed). The number of buildings from below that are actually on the inventory is something less that 10 and greater than 1, in other words, there is a mixture of both represented on the photos.

Just to be clear, my intention isn't to mock the heritage inventory or the application of these laws, but only to have a bit of fun.

The correct answer spells something:

ABCFHI

Now we just have to figure out what a Abcfhi is.

No tricks. Here's the results so far:
Ed007 - 4 out of 10 correct
spmarshall - 5 out of 10 correct
gangavih - 4 out of 10 correct
Alvin/Diaspar - 4 out of 10 correct
SirNovelty - 4 out of 10 correct

Hmm. Looking at the pics, I want to say B, C, H, I, which would show general agreement with other respondents. The thing is, their scores suck.

Well, mine will too then. If we learn D is listed, I may go on a shooting rampage. (Now where is that cap gun?)

42

B F and I.

I'm guessing A is a trick and C should be but isn't.

and?

Ok, I'll admit I'm cheating by trying to figure this out looking at previous guesses.

Archivistower - Are you sure SirNovelty only got 4, and not 5? I can only make my assumptions work if he got 5...

On the list:
B D F H I J and one of A and C

I'm tempted to slot all the previous answers into a big logic puzzle matrix but I'll refrain.

B, F, H, J are listed.

b, c & i

I like J. Where is it? Looks like one of those standard triplexes that has been reno'd.

OK, there's been a definite downward trend here.

interchange: 2 out of 10.
Citywriter: 2 out of 10.
Canuck 36: 5 out of 10.
scarberianhatru: 3 out of 10.
borgos: 1 out of 10.

Hint: only two buildings of the ten are NOT on the inventory of heritage properties. If someone had actually just said "all of them", therefore, they would get eight out of ten.

Ok Archivistower, you've beat me.

I enjoy little brain teasers and did in fact create a little matrix to solve this puzzle. However, either a) I'm unable to solve this or b) you've made an error in the scoring.

The obvious answer of c) I spent far too much time trying to figure this out goes without saying. Despite the fact I just said it.

So far as I can figure the following are on the list:
A C D E F G J
Not on the list:
B

And you've got me stumped between H & I. If H is on the list then CityWriter should only have had a score of 1. And if I is on the list, then Borgos should have had a score of 2.
And I don't know how Ed got 4, he should only have received 3 AFAIK.

I retire from this game to go sulk in the corner now.

Canuck. I should have pointed out in the scoring that I didn't give you a point for saying "one of A or C" in your first guess, but I've just re-worked all the scores (and had someone look over my shoulder to verify) and they are all right. Sorry. It's like a little heritage Sudoku almost.

I'll give the answers tomorrow ...
