Perfect Grad Gift for a Nurse?

My friend just graduated her masters of nursing and I'd like to get her something to celebrate. What would be the perfect grad gift for a nurse?

When I registered my business, she got me a business card holder which turned out to be the perfect gift for my field, I want to do the same for her.

Any ideas? :D

Business class ticket to Houston? Texas has been agressivly recruiting nurses from Canada for ages.

oh no! I can't send her away...

Lemme see... I need to get something she'll use in her day at work for many years to come.

Go figure, there are websites out there specifically designed for Gifts for Nurses. lol

Leading the bunch right now: an ID card lanyard with her name on it.

Other ideas:

Thermometer, a nurse mug for her desk, an engraved pen...

I wish we had medical staff on UT but somehow I think that we're populated here with a different type of demographic.

A nice Leatherman, or I believe a Gerber might be the weapon of choice for a nurse. Nothing too clunky (ie; she isn't likely to need a corkscrew on the job, so getting her one with a corkscrew is just going to be extra weight and a nuisance), just a nice and simple one with scissors, a blade, and a pair of pliers. If I were picking I'd say something like www.leatherman.com/produc...efault.asp

And for that extra touch you could engrave the handle, "Class of 2007" or something like that.

Love the idea Burgher. I mean, that knife can be stuck in somebody's head while my friend pulls a bullet out of somebody's skull somewhere in an African nation at war. :eek

I'm wondering, do nurses use swiss army knives in a hospital setting? I'm guessing that would be a hygiene issue. I'll run it by one of her nurse friends (any excuse to talk to her nurse friends is a good excuse).

omg, those are so gross. Everytime I see somebody on the street with them (some people wear them with socks too>: ), I feel like wailing out the fashion police siren.

They've become a "so ugly, they're trendy" kinda thing.

I don't own a pair, but I have friends who swear by their comfort. When I was in the hospital earlier this summer, all the staff wore them.

You may get some ideas from here:

How about a Nurse Watch? Some nurses can't/won't wear wrist watches on the ward.

Before adma posted that I was thinking to myself:

Boy, I'm really surprised at how this thread is going. Where is adma?
