hkskyline Goes to Munich.
I first visited Munich while in transit from Switzerland to Canada in 2004. Back then, I only got to see some airplanes at the airport and the maglev train exhibition. This time, I returned for the city, and beer. It was Oktoberfest!
1. During the sober hours, I visited the Frauenkirche, which had an observation deck at the top.
3. However, the glass was not very co-operative and the space was quite tight, so I did my best.
5. Ooo .. a green roof, and a courtyard!
7. Munich is a fairly lowrise city. The historic structures dominate the landscape.
10. This should be the postcard picture for the city. Too bad the clouds covered the skies now and then. It would've been quite pretty had the sun shone own.
11. Above everyone else's rooftops, I am on top of the world.
16. This building was certainly an eye-catcher, and hence, the focus of more detailed close-ups.
18. This one was also interesting ...
27. Back on land, I explored the city centre block by block.
28. These neat fruit stands weren't too badly overpriced. They're a bit too tidy though.
38. For an advanced country, Germany wasn't very expensive at all. Food was very affordable.
40. Red flowers were also abundant. Such simple decorations really pretty up the building.
