I have no audio on my computer, so I have to ask the question: does mike speak in CAPS the way Margaret Thatcher was said to have spoken in italics?

First observation: I'm just amazed to see mike sans hat.

Anyhoo. He's by no means a bad speaker, but he's obviously pressured by time and too much information. He should have gotten rid of some of the information and emphasized that viewers read his platform for more information. This is two minutes. There's time for two points...maybe. Take the time to smile and make a connection with the voter.

Also, two minutes is not a lot of time. Mike would have done better if he had memorized what he wanted to say, rather than reading off a piece of paper.

I read in the star that Miketoronto got something like 390 votes or 3 percent of the vote. Good for him, and I mean that without a hint of sarcasm. It is almost impossible to oust councillors and he was running in a crowded field.

It's true. I was all ready to be snide (well, alright, one concession to myself: seeing him on CityTV promoting express busses made my November), but in the end, he ran for office and I putzed around on the Internet instead.
