Mark Kingwell, as most of you know, is a Canadian social critic and professor of philosophy at UofT. His work concerning justice, consciousness, civility, and political philosophy in general, have made him quite famous in this country and abroad. One of his most recent books is entitled "Concrete Reveries: Consciousness and the City."
He recently lectured at Lakehead University and briefly touched upon several themes in his book. Particular focus is given to New York and Shanghai, but Toronto and the rest of Canada are afforded similar investigation.
Here's the link to the Part 1 of the lecture (and the corresponding playlist): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hpmI1w_O0U&feature=PlayList&p=3680AEA6BBE2C26B&index=0&playnext=1
