I want the Yonge Street bank building.

I opened my first bank accounts in these buildings when I worked in the old Eatons store. Mind you on my $28.00 per week before deductions paycheque and after my $20.00 a week rent it left account balances that where rather meagre.

Still I well remember the feeling of awe going inside these edifices of commerce.

Yes but in those days, whenever they were, your $28 went a heck of a lot further than $28 does today!

There used to be a small two level enclosed retail arcade called Gloucester Mews at the north east corner of Yonge and Gloucester that opened briefly in the early 1970's. It was just a few little stores, but kind of nice. I got my ear pierced there in '73 when it was definitely not the thing for guys to do.
