Foster Exhibition @ Faculty of Architecture, April 10

The lead sponsor is Concord Cityplace ... one can only hope that the two are working together ...

^ Not surprising, since Hong Kong people (the people behind Concord Pacific) are the biggest fans of Foster ever since he designed HSBC.

New rumour, everyone go spread it on the international forums: Foster is designing the Signature Tower for CityPlace. Renderings are to be made public later this year but initial indications are it will be shaped like a fork standing on its tip - with the four spikes at the top.

Dropped by today to have a look - the international section of the exhibit, focusing on Millau Viaduct, 30 St. Mary Axe/Swiss Re and Florence station is an utter yawn, IMO. The saving grace is the Pharmacy section - several models, small, up to date pics of the interior, the blueprint for the building and cladding samples...

So yeah, regarding the project itself - updates:

The interior is mostly clad in black - which along with the light silver pods (yes, they have been painted) and grey concrete columns, makes it look *really* stylish. Dare I say, sexy?

The steel rods from which the pods are suspended is also painted black - which make them disappear against the black ceiling.

There will be a small museum with 4 display cases at the SE corner of the lobby, and a sort of "cafe" common at U of T.
