I'm English so a huge England fan and I would love to watch the matches with as many England supporters as possible. Could anyone recommend some good bars to go to to watch the game? Thanks!!
Duke of Gloucester on Yonge, south of Bloor is the "official" England supporters spot, though I've never actually gone there to watch a game. England supporters don't seem to congregate in the same way as other supporters. FWIW, the England supporters here have been going to the Elephant and Castle at King and Simcoe.
I've watched the England matches at both D of G and at Elsewhere Pub (N of Yonge and Eglinton). Both are great but D of G charged a $10 cover... Elsewhere is free and has great fish and chips. Here's the info on Elsewhere Pub... arrive early if you can:
Yeah I just heard that they're charging $5 this year, why is that? Is it any better in there than anywhere else (like Elsewhere Pub). I've also heard The Main Event at Yonge and Eglinton is really good. I think I'll be going to one of those two now rather than spending $5 just to get in lol. Also i know the Loose Moose is playing World Cup matches, I doubt the atmosphere would be as good as for the playoffs but I wonder if it might be worth checking out.....
Thanks for the address of Elsewhere Pub by the way!
