I have a 50' double lot that is currently in the process of being severed in South Etobicoke. Once complete, I am thinking of hiring a builder to build a pair of single detached homes at the same time for me. Everyone I talk to tells me that it is 'proper' and always better to build them together to sell off. I know these arguments well. However, I am very interested in learning about what people think if I build them a year apart from each other or longer apart. I like this approach because I can take my time, use the extra time in the market to build to help recover the cost inefficiencies of not building them together, and for the reason of having less stress and burden.
