Doors Open Toronto

If some of the Crosstown LRT Stations are finished, why not open them for "Open Doors"? Just leave out the stations not finished by May 27th. Put barriers up and staff to keep an eye on the visitors.

They probably have not been turned over yet. Just because the station box is built and potentially fitted out does not mean the critical life safety systems such as the fire alarm are functional.

You cannot let the public into a construction site or any space where life safety systems are not functional. That is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I had a good Doors Open tour today. I saw the Elgin & Wintergarden Theatre, Toronto City Hall, Osgoode Hall, Mackenzie House, and the Metropolitan United Church. No lineups except for the elevator to the City Hall rooftop observatory, which I skipped - I rarely suffer long queues.
