Yes, but at the same time the point of illustrating that "tradition" comes weighted with much idiotic baggage is worth mentioning.

As for myself, if asked to swear for anything as a citizen, I'd much prefer to swear for the idea of a free, democratic and open state than to pledge an allegiance to the mere symbol of a traditionalist monarch and all the pomp and whatever used to decorate it.

This 31 part movie is very fitting here. I guarantee an entertaining expansive history lesson about the Vatican, Christianity and the English monarchy... and a few nightmares about the queen (one of the main subjects of the film).
