It's essentially a non-issue here. I can't really see people getting exorcised over the point he's making.
Yes, but at the same time the point of illustrating that "tradition" comes weighted with much idiotic baggage is worth mentioning.
As for myself, if asked to swear for anything as a citizen, I'd much prefer to swear for the idea of a free, democratic and open state than to pledge an allegiance to the mere symbol of a traditionalist monarch and all the pomp and whatever used to decorate it.
