City manager stepping down
In a surprise move, Shirley Hoy, the most powerful bureaucrat at city hall, tendered her resignation today as Toronto’s city manager.
Hoy, who has been in the job for seven years, did not immediately specify her reasons for leaving the post, or say what her next career move will be.
In her resignation letter, Hoy said, "I intend to continue working in the health and social services sector.''
Her resignation is effective Oct. 6. .............
