Get yourselves down to Nathan Phillips Square to watch Immersion, the light show projected on the west side of Old City Hall, before it ends its run on December 23. It's quite impressive. It runs nightly until then, hourly on the half hour from 5:30pm to 10:30pm. The show is 15 minutes long.
If you go on a Saturday night, be aware that there is no 8:30pm show, as concerts are going on in the square at the time. There are fireworks at 8:45pm however, and they are pretty good.
