The Carolina Hurricanes have just managed to keep the Stanley Cup from Canada for the 13th straight year. And how do they plan to celebrate this victory? By marching the Stanley Cup around the RBC Center!

Hurricanes to celebrate Stanley Cup with parade around arena
June 20, 2006

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The Carolina Hurricanes will celebrate their Stanley Cup victory with a parade Tuesday winding around the team's arena.

The roads around the RBC Center were chosen because Raleigh's downtown is in the midst of reconstruction and there is too little space for thousands of fans in the center city's parks or around the antebellum state Capitol.

The celebration and parking at the RBC Center will be free for all fans.

The parade is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. at the south end of North Carolina State University's football stadium, which adjoins the RBC Center, and will circle the sports complex before arriving at the east VIP lots outside the arena.

Speakers and video presentations will begin at about 7:15 p.m.

The Hurricanes won their first NHL title with a 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the Game 7 of the best-of-seven series Monday night.

think of it as - either way we win.

TD has branded a couple stadiums too. Boston and one in florida (I forget which one)

TD Waterhouse Centre is in Orlando.

New Jersey did the same thing, holding a parade in the parking lot in the middle of a swamp.

One day on Bay St..... 39 years and counting.

The Fleet Center in Boston is now known as the "TD Banknorth Center".

If the Leaf's win the parade will hopefully be on Yonge, not Bay.

^ For history's sake they would have to travel down Bay at some point, it also ends at the ACC.
