Bell telephone tower @ Pharmacy & Eg

Hey there,

I've been lost in a maze of pre-recorded menus dealing with Bell telephone and can't find a human to talk to (surprise, surprise!), so was wondering if anyone knows anything about that very tall Bell tower at Pharmacy Ave & Eglinton Ave. (Scarborough's Golden Mile area).

Height, year of construction, purpose(s) other than cellular?

Or does anyone have a link to any web info on this structure?

Anything at all would help.

The towers primary use it for long range Mircowave radio links. These microwave links are almost non-existant now as fiber optics has replaced them.

This tower used to have alot more microwave horns on it then it does now. as they shut down microwave servies they take down more horns.

there are towers all over Ontario like this which are now completely empty.

The tower does have some normal radio communications stuff on it (Repeaters). So it will most likely remain at that location for years to come.
