OK, Took the subway to Yonge and Bloor and then decided to walk down to Union Station and take the GO back to Mississauga.
I wanted to walk to get a feel for what the last speaker of the Mississauga Speaker Series meant by a 5mph city vs. a 60-mph city.
Such an eye opener. I just la-dee-dahhed, I wasn't even going 3mph, just strolling and feeling what's meant by human scale.
I got down closer to Union and stopped in my tracks. There was this beautiful old building and talk about richness of detail.
Here. This one.
It made me wish that I had binoculars to drink in all the decorative details and everything. It was dwarfed by all the bigger newer skyscrapers about but this thing had mega-character and I'd take it any time over the concrete and glass littered with Sonytrons.
I'd appreciate information/comments about this building. I hope it's on some Heritage list...
