1 King Closes Yonge Street

Worried that a piece of 1 King would come crashing onto the street the police had Yonge Street closed most of Sunday afternoon. Didn't see anybody try to fix this.

There was some sort of crane thing parked in the middle of Yonge throughout the evening, but I didn't see it doing anything.

When I went to Shoppers at about 3:30, the hunky cop there said a piece of the flashing had already fallen, and they'd closed the street because they were afraid the one waving in the wind in the picture was going to come down too.

That signage on the corner looks awful too. Can't believe he went with that as an actual logo.

"Yonge Street Closes One King"

October 31, 2006

Hairy Stinson is mad. Mad as hell. The city public works department has just shut down all access to One King West, citing poor construction, danger to pedestrians and excessively loud blow-back (fans) on Yonge Street.

Hairy did acknowledge "at first I thought this was yet another commie Toronto plot to discourage investment in Stinson Properties... but now I see it as a wonderful opportunity to finish the building".

I like how they used old typewriter correction fluid, or whatever, to cover over those dark patches that used to be all over the building.

Geez... every time I make a funny, you obscure it with your wannabe eurdite but infinitely forgettable bean salad.

Just giggle now and then. or don't post.

There's another sign that you can see from Yonge south of Front that's equally bad.

Speaking of bad the backside of One King, I guess that would be west, looks terrible. The windows up the middle are too small. They should have done the same semi-circle pattern up the back as they did on the front.

The big blower things on Yonge side are great if you need your hair dried but don't mind it messy.

Sorry spmarshall...didn't see your post here - I posted the whole thing to Projects/Construction
