lol, I'm sure some new signals will help...
Drivers have realised that they have the power and they don't need to actually respect the City's poor planning.
Sad, but a good wake-up call for the bureaucrats.
Yet another signal that King is not King and that it is unreliable and not a priority even from the City's perspective: https://stevemunro.ca/2023/12/03/yet-another-king-diversion/
This city really does not understand behaviour and psychology.
Really? I wonder. Living on King (at least on the east side), it seem it is mostly:
- pick-up trunks (who don't care about anything)
- service trucks
- couples/carpoolers with mouths agape trying to get to the mall
- cabbies
I'm sure some Ubers too.
King hasn't run consistently for most of...
It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Do yourself a favour and get a bike or take Ubers for a few months. The city and all its institutions have proven to be utterly incompetent with this matter.
Since we're all just giving opinions based on personal anecdotes and feelings, I say keep it and let drivers swallow themselves in their concrete prison lol. It's only going to get worse, not better, to drive.
It makes sense if the traffic isn’t there esp M and F. Also, the more they cancel trains and the more people drive or take TTC, this end of union becomes less of a destination.
I wonder what it would take for us to handle these situations appropriately:
I think drivers are collectively realising en-masse that if none of them follow the rules, they win.
The writing is on the wall for FiDi. RBC thought all the banks would follow their lead, they did not.
Even urbanists here want to work from home all the time. A decade of tough transitions is coming.
This will trigger people, but people aren’t coming back downtown in the droves the city needs to keep things going.
Even Dave McKays mandates aren’t enforceable as this would deplete their workforce. There is no behavioural incentive to get people back on transit to come downtown. Everyone’s...
Every here is aligned on the short term pain long term gain narrative.
You know like most normal folks, that we have no time to wait for transit wonks to make life easier.
Lol is any part of the system working?
Streetcar service will be removed from King Street between Shaw and the Don River while overhead east from Bathurst is adjusted for pantograph-only operation.

No doubt cars...
