We are in the midst of a housing crisis. Doesn't matter what LA and Mexico City are doing. We need to address our own challenges. Especially when we have a generational opportunity to densify along a well-established transit line.

Last night I saw a notice posted in front of Iqbal Halal Foods that Metrolinx will start demolition of buildings at 1 & 2 Thorncliffe Park Dr in April. I am hopeful this project will keep moving quickly!

I don't think that store has been expropriated. It's still functioning. Though you never know which developer has eyes on it

Yes, I am aware that they will be demolishing an entire block along Danforth Ave and, as another member mentioned, IO has development plans for two blocks. I just noticed the demo fences and signs last night and was a bit surprised as I thought the demo won't start until 2025/26.

MX has started demolition of houses along Lipton Ave. Houses along Gertrude Pl have been expropriated as well and I believe demolition will start soon.

Noticed environmental monitoring equipment by Metrolinx on the front lawn of 7 Gertrude Pl. Didn't take any photos due to privacy reasons.
