    Hamilton Lime Ridge Mall Intensification (Phase 1) | ?m | 12s | Primaris REIT | WZMH

Does Costco ever locate next to malls? None come to mind in the GTA. I also don’t think we’re due for another Costco.

Hamilton Coppley Building Redevelopment | ?m | 4s | Core Urban Inc. | Lintack Architects

I don’t know about that specific type, but there are a few manufacturers of “old-style” windows around southern Ontario thanks to our heritage and the efforts of people to maintain those. It is more of a boutique, Stratford-esque thing, though- not as much here. Waterloo taps into it I believe...

Almost can’t believe something is happening. I am cautiously optimistic. I do also expect them to get this variance, even though it’s not really ‘’minor”; most everyone just wants this built, and only a few storeys isnt worth derailing anything of substance.

Well that Walmart is pretty busy. I think it’s plausible the south mountain could use a Walmart, seeing as the James/Fennell one is now the only one for the entire mountain proper until you get to Stoney Creek Mountain or Ancaster’s, which are both pretty far by comparison. While I’d think...

Cmon, don’t leave us hanging on the source!

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

See the GO 2.0 Expansion thread for my response regarding that, but the Midtown ends up on these docs every time and doesn’t move forward either. Yes, if Mx had integrity with their projections and Corridor ID it would be better, and so on- but the map simply corresponds to where ‘new corridor’...

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

This is (purportedly) from Metrolinx’s 2051 RTP, the next iteration of the 2041 RTP, which followed the Big Move- or, it’s at least from a background study to it. If you look to the 2041 RTP you will see this fits in that format. This is only a fraction of what we will see, though as usual...

    GO 2.0 Expansion Plan

Precisely. It says right there these were studied options. It is nonetheless a big leak for the RTP to be effectively complete, and for options such as these to be included in the horizon. As @Northern Light implies, the full planning documents (RTP + Technical reports) are necessary to see the...

The Future of subway and rapid transit in the GTA

I’m very glad to see this exists, but we need the report. I will look, and I hope this user shares more.

    Hamilton St. Paul's Presbyterian Redevelopment | ?m | 30s | Collecdev-Markee

In Hamilton the best you can hope for is that staff recognize what’s infront of them so no one else has to give the green light after an inordinate amount of time. That said, it’s not like Collecdev-Markee is headed by someone unacquainted with the pains of municipal process. And newcomers...

    Hamilton 175 John Street North | 46.2m | 12s | Darpel Investments | srm Architects

Link isn’t working for me- is this to be rental? Otherwise we won’t see it for a long time. I do like my Pane Del Sole.

    Hamilton TD Coliseum Renovations | ?m | 4s | OVG | BBB

Not to get too off-topic, because it very easily could… Generally speaking no, GO was and is only able to run trains during rush hour to Hamilton Centre. What I do wonder now, is if it’s cheaper to pay CP whatever price for miscellaneous time slots (that must exist if you watch the corridor)...

    Hamilton Corktown Plaza | 91.43m | 27s | Slate | Core Architects

Should have combined this with the above, but oh well. Both of these have been for sale for many years. If the developers were going to pull the plug, they would (probably should) have by now. Truth is The Moderne will almost certainly not get built under its current owner; both sites (many...

    Hamilton Corktown Plaza | 91.43m | 27s | Slate | Core Architects

If there was ever any doubt buildings could still get shut down or demolished for parking lots in the 21st century, someone in Hamilton will find a way.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

It works out quite well for students. Personally I did not look forward to taking trains to Bramalea and bussing to Kitchener in a sardine can, or vice versa. Day trips would be nice, but that is secondary to this segment, which represents the clear bulk of riders. This at least opens the door...

Toronto Scarborough Town Centre Redevelopment | ?m | 65s | Oxford Properties | BDP Quadrangle

I can’t pin down how much, but centralization effects are a thing, and infrastructure does do that…

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

The answer is “yes, but”… you wouldn’t be able to go further west/north without blowing through the Dundas Valley (way bigger no-no than the escarpment) or being concurrent with the 403 till you can wrap around. I also don’t think the Linc would be wide enough for an ultimate configuration...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

That was it- screw over people in the City, or the valley. We chose the latter. I always suspected the wide ROW on Mud Street was for a Linc extension to the potential alternative alignment(s), but someone might have corrected me that Mud St’s actually just an average width. lol.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

The nuts and bolts transportation case may not be there per se, but its rippling down into poor, contradictory land use decisions. It is a case where, imo, the small steps of the status quo will do more damage over time than one big intervention. Expansion below the escarpment is a bad idea...
