I attended the groundbreaking, they had a nice afternoon party for owners with DJ and drinks with a photographer to take pictures of you with a shovel in the ground. The digging has begun!

I find the new mls.ca to be on a similiar platform as zillow.com that has been in the states a couple years.....zillow posts previous sales price as well as current market values....would be great to have this data in one place for Canada too.

I have a closing date Dec 11. The building was registered last week.

On the last page under "Dwelling Units" it says "Tenure Type: Rental".......will this be a rental apartment building or is it possible to sell the units as condo?

It looks to me like they are salvaging the stone of the facade, and that could be the reason for not bringing in the wrecking ball.

I don't know why anyone should be ignoring this request....it is in your best interest to ensure you can get financing....for your own sake. Providing this same info to the developer is not a big deal. An approval does not mean that you have locked in a loan, only that you qualify for one...

The facade was there before the sales office....I believe it is a heritage piece that is part of the Canadian Tire property.....

Funny, my first thought was Milan too. I stopped by the sales office this weekend and was told they were not going to start construction until next year "sometime"...no buzz around this one at all.

Thanks Bentley, it does help to hear another opinion. I did buy a 1+ den but it is small, about 725 sf. Upgraded to wood vs. laminate floors and have a corner unit w/balcony. My doubt comes in when I look at the building facade and windows going in......I know it is early, but I am not...

Does anyone have any thoughts on the investment value of this building? I purchased in 2005 and am wondering if 18 Yorkville is a proper comparison for recent sales....the location is the same, but not sure about the quality of finishings....should I be worried?

I drive by Church and Yonge everyday on my way to work and noticed this morning a sales office for Milan in the old Canadian Tire building...this one appears to be moving fast after a long history of previous attempts to develop the site.

I looked at this development in 2003, it has had a slow start. I recall the front is a restoration of an old mansion on the property, with the back units all a new addition. The floorplans were nice looking, with skylights and large rooms, 10 ft ceilings, 6" moldings, etc....but I believe...

I am not too sure about the quality of the cladding...is it normal to have divits on the pre-clad? It makes the building look worn down already...will they fix the cracks?
