    What does the city honestly have to lose from this? An extra 10 stories of taxable condos will line their pockets with cash, might as well take the deal since the air above that tower will never be used for anything else

    Almost all of New York's most beautiful buildings were created by private developers - They spared no expense to make something that was stunning, the difference is that after WW2 architectural philosophy and the general culture changed into becoming much more minimalist.

    The glass, like most buildings, is the terrible part, but this could have been worse, at least it has some brick, To allow myself to appreciate this built, I just squint my eyes and look at the bottom part, and it almost looks like an old heritage warehouse that got renovated with new glass
