    I live near the VH line, and use it often. I think people are underestimating how much its part of West Island-south-of-highway forty life it is. A couple thousand kids take the train to school daily on the train, habs and concert go-ers use it to get to events, and teens use it to go downtown...

    the downtown and surrounding areas have seen decent development, and high occupancy rates with lots of new apartments, boutiques, hotels, and new offices opening up. Its now spreading to the neighbourhoods, its been happening for the past 5, 6 years. its impressive.

    In an ideal world, we could make the double-tracked CN tracks and the double-tracked CP tracks that run parcel to each other from Dorion to Lachine government owned. CN and CP could use tracks that would be separate from tracks that EXO and VIA use. The Exo and Via tracks could be electrified too

    yup. I live in the West Island. It used to be middle class and still is but is definitely becoming more upper class, especially by the water on the south side, and in Pointe-Claire. The REM has definitely accelerated this trend. Maybe the wealthy new residents will actually leave the suburbs and...
