    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

They're designed to create what are called "pools" and "riffles". The large rocks will help create additional areas of high and low water flow as refuge for fish and other species. They don't place them everywhere because you still want a decent amount of fast moving areas for fish that require...

Montreal has a similar unlimited model that works quite well at managing demand for e-bikes. Regular trips fall under the unlimited 45min trips whereas trips with an e-bike are on a per minute rate albeit at a lower rate when you have a membership. You only see delivery people using them...

Regarding fare integration, purchasing regional fares with PRESTO is significantly easier than with OPUS. When purchasing at a machine, with OPUS you're faced with a myriad of not very clear options. Often theres no regional map so if its your first time, you have a hard time choosing the...

The concerns in that opinion article are kind of meh. Rene-Levesque is a 6 lane boulevard. It's got its own fair share of concrete buildings and an elevated line is not going to look out of place if the supports are designed well. Not sure why they're comparing it to the line in Chonquing...

    VIA Rail

This might get a bit off-topic but I think the car vs train timing also hinges a lot on last mile options at departure and arrival destinations and what options are incentivized. My regular trip is Scarborough to downtown Montreal. By car it takes around 5 hours door to door. The train also...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I'd like to argue what is considered "necessary". Induced demand is a nasty beast. What happens when these highways get filled up which will happen. Do we continue to build and widen highways until everything just becomes one large highway? I agree, we need to get people moving, but I think we...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

When I lived in this area a lot of people just walked under the bridge. With the entrance by the community centre complete, it should be easier to access Kennedy station.

Was it a bumpy ride with lots of hard accelerations and decelerations? I suspect that there will be a reduction in the nausea factor with the whole line being automated. Should help with a much smoother ride.

Love the look of the new REM cars, they carry a lot of the same design language of the Azur trains. Although the row seats are all fun and dandy until its the middle of the winter and you're trying to sit side by side in a puffy winter jacket. It seems like there are more seats in the REM cars...

I was on it early in the morning so I had no idea there were so many people on in on Inauguration Day! Exciting! I do hope that signage for it gets a bit better when it's officially done. I'm a bit annoyed at how the path changes going north along St. Dennis to Lajeunesse. I regularly see...

    Montréal Transit Developments

There was an unofficial inauguration of the St Dennis branch of the réseau express vélo this weekend. The 9km segment is mostly done (theres a part between Jean-talon and Jarry that is not complete) and what's done is really really nice. Kind of a shame that this is finishing right as winter is...

In this specific instance about McGill station I think he is referencing to the fact that there are no accessible ways to get from the concourse level of the station down to track level. Despite there being multiple accessible entrances into the station itself, the final leg down from the...

A small article on the (in)accessibility of the metro system. The STM is currently in the process of retrofitting its stations but there are huge accessibility gaps that make it difficult for lots of the population to access the metro...

I've planned bike rides where I aim to end a dock that has space but by the time I get there, it's full. It's extremely frustrating when you're running a bit tight on time and you end up parking further away and have to spend an extra 10 min walking to your destination.
