GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

If there’s one thing to take away from the April service changes and this new Stratford service, is that we would get 2 counter peak trains to Kitchener, plus a 3rd overall weekend train which allows people to take the train in the morning instead of waiting until the afternoon or taking the...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

This new style of service on the line reminds me of the Niagara trips, skipping stations and only stopping at certain ones. It does mostly come down to the track restrictions and where exactly they could run service on the new passing tracks without interfering with the trains in the peak...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Just updated my post to include even more changes that I missed because of Metrolinx no longer exactly telling us what is added or removed, and wow this might be the biggest example of that. This is completely atrocious and unwanted. What is even the logic of this, are they saying that they'll...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Thank you, just edited it. Also they probably meant that its just 15 min all day weekend service, which includes just weekend mid day and evening. Maybe you got it confused with weekday mid day which i did at first as well until i re read the changes. We’re probably not getting the 15 min all...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I was wondering why i was on the GO bus one day a couple weeks ago and it said “service changes coming April 13” then there were no changes for then, but they pushed it back to April 25 https://www.gotransit.com/en/travelling-on-go/service-changes-start-april-25 Aside from the typical...

    Brampton Transit/Zum

Its sad to see Bovaird get this bad, and its every single branch that they run on it too. What makes them want to still run the 5A despite the 30 and 505 running sufficient enough service on Airport Rd with or without it. Why do they treat Goreway like an afterthought despite it being a high...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I was riding Line 5 today heading to Mount Dennis, and they already have announcements at Caledonia to transfer to the Barrie Line… Are the GO platforms even anywhere near half as done yet?

    miWay Transit

Actually they always run late night buses at the bus terminal up until 2-3am on each GO line after the final trains depart Union. GO bus route 18 is the bus equivalent to the LW line, and there are buses at 1:05am and 2:30am at Union Bus Terminal that go straight to Port Credit first before...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Here's the official statement for it https://www.ttc.ca/riding-the-ttc/Line-6-Finch-West Surprised to see the extended service happen this early and not when the line is actually consistent and doesn't have a new issue every half hour.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

A student would actually find more benefit in taking Line 1 and Line 2 from Union to Kipling and then the 927 Express bus to Humber, as you could get there in about 60-65 mins as opposed to the near 90 min+ journey taking Line 1 and Line 6. Even with TSP fully implemented on Finch, it would...

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Line 5 finally shows up on the transit app, and trips like this actually exists now.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

They definitely waited way too late to announce all these changes happening in only 5 days from now. If it was at least 2 weeks notice then people would have time to adjust. But opening the most anticipated rail line ever in the province on top of multiple bus changes on the same day, let alone...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

If Line 5 does open on Feb 8, it would be interesting to see if it could run in snow storms unlike Finch, or if they would turn back trains at Laird at the very least as the underground section obviously wouldn’t have snow to deal with.

    Brampton Transit/Zum

This is a bad look for BT heading into the new year, especially as the whole return to office thing starts in January. For the 561 getting reduced to 30 mins, you could make an argument that it’s on a corridor that isn’t as busy as the other Zum routes and the 1 does see higher ridership...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Its great that GO buses will go to Humber but its a little confusing on where it would go as most of the nearby GO hubs are already or will be serviced with local transit (Bramalea, Malton, Woodbine, Viscount/Pearson, Renforth, Sq One, Kipling, etc). 38 Bolton doesn’t exactly make sense unless...

At this point do the TTC themselves even know that they’re opening on December 7?

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Today was a great first day for the weekend Kitchener/Bramalea trains (despite the small equipment delays)... but unfortunately it gets cut short for next weekend. Least there will still be some train service.

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

This is probably why the Bramalea only trains aren't as busy on all days of the week compared to the Mount Pleasant and Kitchener bound ones. I know isn't a new line and a straight frequency upgrade, but compared to how much of an instant hit it was when weekend trains were first brought to...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Not sure why Metrolinx decides to run these 10/12 car trains on the Bramalea only service of the Kitchener line during mid days and are 90% empty most of the time, while the same section during peak hours, you would see only 6 cars operating. Is it because of limited equipment or do they do it...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Especially as they already do this on Fridays, so it clearly is a thing they could do for the weekends also. They do this exact same 2 bus every hour thing for the 12/12B at Burlington GO and it’s infuriating.
