Good if it's Cadence who won.

    Quebec-Windsor Corridor

Haven't seen this in anglo media yet? https://www.lapresse.ca/affaires/2024-10-30/tgv-quebec-toronto/la-facture-sera-plus-salee-que-prevu.php Costs would be higher from 120 billions. 200 billions to get to Windsor.

    Montréal Transit Developments

As the main engineer consultant for the CCR (centre de contrôle de relève), the metro is in priority (same as hospitals) for energy requirements. There are many redundant nodes. When the REM West Island branches open, it will be more resilient because of such additional nodes.

Plante cancelling the REM de l'Est left Legault furious. He can be a petty man. He's a business man, he saw that the CDPQi delivers, not so much for left leaning cities and organisations.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Seems that the ARTM days are soon to be over, transit planning to be given to a new agency, headed by CDPQi. "Pink" line consultations were halted by the Québec government. STM has Blue lines contract tender issues with the boring contract...

CDPQ to the rescue for Québec City. https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/regional/2023-11-08/tramway-de-quebec/legault-reprend-le-projet-et-mandate-la-caisse-de-depot.php

It still happens all the time for the metro but the media loves to blame CDPQ for the REM issues.

Québec City streetcar project looks like it's dead. A last minutes meeting today will seal the fate. Cost estimates more than doubled and no consortium made a bid due to financing issues...

    Montréal Transit Developments

It all depends on the geographical situation. Cut and cover can be cheaper if there's no underground utilities. Aerial guideway can be cheaper than streetcar cause no utilities to be relocated. In the Montreal context, a streetcar is studied for that part.

I had said to the STM that their wayfinding person is sloppy with numerous examples of mistakes and offenses and yet that person still do sloppy work. How is missing a train line and platform in any way acceptable?

    Montréal Transit Developments

Seems that gates are being installed at Gare Centrale REM station towards Place Bonaventure. That might explain the lack of signage not being installed as the walking route would be different. Weird situation altogether. That entrance is not on any recent plans. It would be a big win for...

Minister is mad at the ARTM lol. https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/grand-montreal/2023-08-23/gestion-du-transport-collectif/guilbault-ecorche-l-artm.php

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Wait what?! They're not plowed?! Even my small town here they're done in priority, Montreal the same.

I really don't know what Legault will do. The jab he made during the REM's opening at the expense of Plante and his recent remarks towards the ARTM means he's losing patience a lot.

    Montréal Transit Developments

Plante is opposed to the idea. Which is really surprising coming from her IMO. https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/grand-montreal/2023-08-18/tramway-dans-l-est-de-montreal/plante-accueille-froidement-l-idee.php

Probably will be. Legault is pretty blunt about it.

La Presse. Also from La Presse today, Legault is looking to have a new agency to fast track transit projects, might be the end of the ARTM. He's pretty explicit in how he can't fathom the replacement of the REM de l'Est with the 36G$ proposal.

That's why I always travel in business class. Extra wine glasses is a good way to pass delay time.

It makes a big difference indeed, I was lucky to have a couple of trips coming back home and saved about 15 minutes on the trip, that without backing up and no one stopping at Coteau.
