I like the looks of the new trains, they have a nice sleek look that reminds me a bit of the old LRC's. Seeing these shoot past traffic going along the 401 east of Pickering / Oshawa should have commuters thinking " hey I should have taken the train!"

Just out of curiosity if they are going to look at Hydrogen powered trains, why not battery powered. It seems they already have some working units in the UK.

Ah, I see now that makes sense. The rail line does sort of roughly follow the track as shown but the lrt/brt option is more logical, Thanks for clearing that up for me.

There's a map on a go transit page showing future possible stations, one being "Mayfield West". I wonder how this would play into this rail line?

So is SmartTrack going to have its own separate and unique trains running back and forth on the Go line, or will they just use the existing Go Trains which stop at the "SmartTrack stations?

From everything I can see Mount Dennis is the last stop in the west end but I've read of plans to run it all the way to the Airport. Is this a possibility or are there no firm plans?

Ok, that makes sense. I thought that overtime old sewer lines or such could end up not being where they ought to be but if it all goes to the road right-of-way then it shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for the explanation.

After looking at one of todays pictures of an underground garage being built at 1 Yorkville, I’ve always wondered is how do they excavate for a large building in an already built up area without disturbing the numerous services for the adjacent buildings like gas, water, sewers, electricity etc...
