I just came back from a trip to Tokyo, and the way they run trains there is an eye opener. The JR trains running on multiple tracks in the middle of the city doing ~103km/h (via my phone’s gps) and whizzing by other trains on the track next to it is something I don't foresee us ever doing here...

It would be nice if they included some more detailed progress on the cp bridge area, and when they plan to clean and open the bike lanes

No pics but they finally paved the Weston and Finch intersection, the only substantial construction left is the MUP under the CP bridge and the associated paving between Weston and Arrow Rd, no work has progressed here in months from what I saw. I wonder if they will open the line without this...

Just did a driveby yesterday, the entire site is cleared, they did not keep the historical main building, also looks like they cleared most of the trees on site as well.

No pics but I passed this site yesterday and it appears shoring is done and they are actively excavating

I thought I read somewhere they were supposed to start construction of the first towers at the end of last summer, but so far there is no activity on site.

I suppose it ended up selling, not sure at what point we should make a new thread in the buildings section but there has been an application to demolish 19 buildings on this site, with nothing to replace them yet. Drove by the other day to see crews and machinery clearing the site.

If Hinkley Point C is any indication (3200MW @ ~$45B Pounds/ $79.2B CAD and 14-15 year construction time), I'll be surprised if this is ready by 2050 and be less than $100B by the time its done.

I emailed Transportation Services thanks to @Northern Light and heard back really quickly, basically they said the rolled curb design is for emergency vehicles to pass through as finch isn't as wide as Hwy 7 which makes sense. I suggested they add some flexible bollards and more signage similar...

From what I noticed, they are not maintaining the bike lanes this winter so probably they "closed" them so there's no liability. I would assume they still have to hand them off to the city eventually who will have to maintain them, that's my guess anyways.

Came to vent a bit, driving along finch someone parked on the bike lane and while going by there wasn't quite enough room so I clipped his mirror, both mirrors broken. He made a big fuss over it but at the end of the day it was probably both our faults. luckily my mirror is only $34. I wonder if...
