    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

I don't think it's some kind of weird conspiracy theory like you're implying. It seems simple to me - the population/growth of Brampton/Caledon is going to dwarf Kitchener-Waterloo, so the 413 is a higher priority than Hwy 7. Yes the highway will take many years to build do to the length and...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

Airport stuff (then they decided it would close down), York/Markham stuff (16th Avenue was redesigned I think).

No idea what those are. Almost looks like a cover for a pavement testpit/borehole they couldn't backfill or something.

Probably traffic loops/counters for the ATMS system (connects to the digital sign boards). Pull up a street view if you can.

Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

Simcoe may have paid for that one, but I believe MTO still ran it. This one is actually being run by Halton (with some degree of MTO involvement and cost sharing, of course).

Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

Fun fact: the current Tremaine Road interchange project is actually being run by Halton Region (not MTO) and was conceived 10-15 years ago as Tremaine Road has been slowly built up through Milton. It doesn't include any new lanes/widening on 401, but that will surely follow later by MTO.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Development has already been zoned up to 413 and it's majority residential for most of the corridor. See something like this...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

There's an epidemic of people that have just drunk way too much Transit-Youtuber Kool-Aid and think all Highways are unnecessary.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Highway 400 is currently being widened in the Vaughan area, from Langstaff up to King Road. The goal is to extend the HOV lane all the way through Barrie to Highway 11. So the location of the intersection between 400 and 413 makes sense. It's already about as far north as it can get without...

Wyecroft Rd Extension & Bridge Project (Halton / Oakville / Burlington)

The feedback Halton Region has got from cyclists is that ideally roads should have both an on-street bike lane for "confident cyclists" and a raised wider MUP/sidewalk for more casual cyclists. Tremaine Road is another example.

The context of the tunnel would be express movement across the city (not into it) though. Transit goes into the city and Ontario is spending about 3x on transit than on highways.

Those signs are so stupid. That is a long article, but I can't tell if it's the City, or MTO, or another group entirely that is backing these signs and who benefits.

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Interesting shots of the existing bridge rehabiltation!

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Driving on Mississauga Road under the new bridges feels quite cavernous right now. The clearance above is very high...I can't think of anything else like it right now in the GTA.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Not only is the existing 410 extension alignment to a much lower design speed, the layout does not really accommodate future widening beyond 2 lanes per direction. I wonder if the intention was to always treat this as a placeholder extension until 413 was built. And although this project...

    Toronto Arcadia District | 138.4m | 42s | Ellis Don Developments | BDP Quadrangle

A rather inconvenient location due to being south of the rail tracks. You're almost closer to Islington/Bloor than Kipling/Bloor for walking. Kipling you'd have to either take the long bridge over the railway or cut through the TTC station. It would make getting to the new proposed Etobicoke...

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Think 1 HOV + 3 General lanes in each direction, plus standard width shoulders and speed change lanes as required. Eventually the HOV will extend from Burlington to Hwy 427.

Roads: Highway 401 Widening - Highway 8 to Highway 410 (MTO, U/C, Planned)

HOV to Kitchener will be game-changing. A lot of transit between the two areas is on GO Busses.

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Great photos. Probably the most significant bridge over water built in the GTA in a long time. Big temporary changes to the on-ramps; I see huge traffic backups on traffic maps.
