    Token Debacle

How does the union feel about Smart Cards? I think it's pretty safe to say that they are just as much opposed to it if not more. I've seen many unions keep away technologies that improve businesses, and I smell another.

    What's wrong with tolls?

I've been away on business and I just got to go through the thread since my original post. It's an interesting discussion going on here, but I'm still very supportive of tolls. Much of the opposition to tolls look at the inadequate alternative infrastructure and the risk of unreasonable...

    What's wrong with tolls?

Our highways are a mess, and capacity has clearly not and will not grow fast enough. We clearly need to get people moving using alternative methods because are highways can't take anymore cars. Why do so many Torontonians feel that our crumbling, packed highways should always be free...

Montreal beats out Toronto for catching world's eye as tourist destination

I agree 100%. I think we'll see a revitalization of Toronto's more historic areas as well, but it may not be done as well as Montreal. The West Ed is pretty embarassing these days as well. It is extremely outdated and tacky. All the indoor renovations happening there still can't help it...

Argos interested in moving to BMO Field

Ya and why not ruin a good soccer pitch because we have to keep around a dying sport and a dying team.

Argos interested in moving to BMO Field

Fine. Go outdoors, but not BMO Field. That is the National SOCCER stadium. It is only a short amount of time before that god-awful artificial pitch is history. And when that happens, there is no way the soccer team would allow any football team near it. Why not the area they practice at...

    Pro-City citizens group--Meeting tonight, 9/11

Please call this the David Miller fan club group. If it's goal is to save Toronto, it shouldn't be trying to bring in something that the majority of citizens do not want. The leaders of this city are pissing away its future, and pissing on all of us by stealing our money and mismanaging it...

Montreal beats out Toronto for catching world's eye as tourist destination

Well than what is going to attract the tourists to Toronto?? The CN Tower? It's getting less impressive each year compared with some of the global skycrapers near completion. Oh, but now it glows! Me thinks Toronto should become a province and re-open the Turks and Caicos debate. :p

Montreal beats out Toronto for catching world's eye as tourist destination

Well said, I travel to Montreal for business and pleasure five to ten times a year. I share many of your views, especially on the PATH being better than Montreal's underground and the unimpressive Chinatown. Montreal has its problems with tourism. They are getting a bad rep in the US due...

Montreal beats out Toronto for catching world's eye as tourist destination

Hang on a second....if there are lots of uninformed or ignorant people, what does that say about Toronto? People don't know about Toronto because it is not a world class city in terms of attractions or being a tourist destination. My wife is a travel consultant who specializes in bringing...
