    Toronto Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

1)NJT doesn't operate PATH. 2) NJT is absolutely, positively the worst transit system on earth. If it was even 20% more reliable and comfortable NJ's notorious road traffic would decrease by 50%.

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

"...but said any deal with the agency should have included affordable housing" Metrolinx is building the cultural centre because it's displacing the cultural centre, not because the regional transit agency is also responsible for building infrastructure for religious institutions. The train...

    Rail Deck Park (?, ?, ?)

    1) If you're re-doing the vast majority of the property you can put underground parking. 2) Turning it into mixed-use with focus on the park aspect (maybe even in conjunction with Ontario Place if you include burying Lake Shore Blvd under it and kill off that barrier) could definitely result in...

Well, technically it plays "music" - people just don't really wanna hear it :D

    Innisfil Orbit | ?m | 40s | Cortel Group | Arcadis

I don't know about the rest but Oakville has cranes everywhere these days. Brantford, Cobourg and Stratford are pretty far from Toronto to attract as many people as a place like Innisfil and other than Cobourg none of those sit on a lake.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Even strictly speaking in regards to roadways the problem wasn't cancelling Spadina, the problem was not having any additional capacity north-south through the city wider than two lanes each direction between the 427 and the DVP. Ditto for crosstown after they turned St. Clair into the streetcar...

    Toronto Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

I've always envisioned this going up Dufferin at some point. At the very least, they have to do something about Dufferin because the development along that corridor is nonstop and the traffic & bus congestion a complete nightmare.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

We spent a $billion+ just upgrading Union Station. We replaced the entire signal system on the TTC. There's shovels in the ground for Finch West. There was the YUS extension into Vaughan. They retrofitted a bunch of old stations to have better access for the disabled. A big chunk of the legwork...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

During off peak hours I would prefer to drive my car. I still take transit sometimes but I have the option as do countless others and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. If the idea of this thread is to vilify drivers in general then this is a different conversation. I would...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

    1) "They can't do both, because people will not use transit with roads" I rode the Lakeshore West line for 10 years. Yes they absolutely will lol what is this? Re: the money, if they're tolling this road to recoup building costs i'm not sure how it's going to affect transit. The 407 extension...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

    1) What transit are we realistically talking about for areas like the region in question? At most what would you construct? BRT? Explain to me why they can't do both at the same time? Plan to reserve lanes on both a new highway and regional roads? Who would complain about that so loud as to...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

    1) Ever heard of the Home Counties? 2) Those aren't exactly limited or controlled access roads other than 35/115. If they were to build something like that, hey, great. I'm just guessing if the government announced that the response from these same groups would be something like "it's a...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

    1) Why does a highway eliminate increased transit? That's such a nonsense argument. 2) Again, this isn't what I was arguing to begin with and I'm not looking to argue about how every city on planet earth developed their transportation systems. All I was pointing out was that North America is...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

    1) The London metro area has about 14 million people in 8300 sq km's, the Golden Horseshoe has about 8.2 million people in 10,000 sq km's. Regionally London is home to more people but not even twice as many as the Toronto area. Including just the city proper is useless as we're discussing...

Fair, although Hidalgo's Peripherique plan is facing some pretty intense pushback.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

There's definitely more 4 lane limited-access roads in those regions and that's definitely something the GTHA lacks (but, again, many would say "for the better) but the 6 lane controlled access expressways are definitely all around those places. Basically any roadway starting with a "A" around...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Where are these places? Europe is criss-crossed with highways and ring roads and outer ring roads and tunnelled expressways through cities and if you drive any direction outside major cities like Paris, Rome, Madrid, London etc. there are nothing but bedroom communities and...

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

Electric or not, the number of trucks on area roads is going up, and as industrial land becomes scarcer and more expensive in the 416 and immediately surrounding areas the number of warehouses/work yards/manufacturing etc. in areas like those just beyond where this highway is to go is going to...

    Toronto Esports Performance Venue and Hotel | 112.23m | 30s | OverActive | Populous

I'm going to go with Alex here. This is publicly-owned land with incredible access to transit (and future transit) and this will be the fourth sports-related large facility on the site. If the goal is to create a second-rate version of the South Philly Sports Complex here, great move. Otherwise...

    Toronto 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

The Jane LRT would almost surely have to be built underground for most of its length. Given how much that would cost and the lack of intensification on most of Jane at the moment it wouldn't make much sense to prioritize rapid transit there, at least not before resolving the disaster Dufferin...
