    VIA Rail

The whole point of retro paint jobs is to look dated. It instills trust in customers as a reminder of your longevity in your industry. They are only doing one train in the Turbo livery, you do know that right

I would love to see a trainset painted in the retro blue scheme

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

After 4 years of delays do you really think they care about saving time?

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

My friend works for Toronto Bike Share and the issue he says is that they need to actively price the e-bikes in conjunction with Uber Eats pay. Because if they make the ebikes affordable enough, unfortunately they all instantly disappear from docks as uber eats delivery people use them. Not...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

So heres the response I got about this work in the Burke Brook Ravine: So it sounds like hopefully, eventually there will be a trail in there, and they are doing what they can to facilite the work in the future, but nothing has been officially planned.

    Taylor Creek Park Management Plan

Nothing better than biking on freshly paved asphalt.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

The city would get screamed at by penny pinching tax payers if they do any work that requires the street to be ripped up more than once. So any permanent bike lane work needs to be done in conjunction with road resurfacing, utilities repair etc. So they have to basically wait until the perfect...

    Electric Bikes

Even the NCM batteries, the risk of them exploding or catching fire is relatively small (as long as they pass North American regulations, cant speak about some other batteries you can buy online). Stoves catch fire, gasoline cars do, hairspray bottles explode in peoples hands, etc, but currently...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

The best part about this huge waste of money is that its on the least used GO train line with a section that is in serious jeopardy of erosion and being abandoned, requiring trains to crawl through it at 40kmh, with next to 0 chance of frequency increase in the next 20 years.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Ok ill message them. Thanks It would be silly to spend money to backfill it or something when it would be a great addition to the area.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Ha! omg wow. Thanks for the information. Its the other way around, the erosion caused the "trail" It's crazy to me that they wouldn't just convert this path for the construction equipment into a trail after they are done. I mean, a lot of the work is already done.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I came across this in my neighbourhood the other day and thought I would share: 13 years ago signs went up on Bayview for work on the Burke Brooke Ravine Trail, which would connect Sunnybrook Park to Sherwood Park in North Toronto...

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

If Porter and Air Canada really wanted to continue to use BB airport, they could do something like switch to ATR 72's, which would still work off the runway as is with the new regs. They dont fly quite as fast or as far as q400s but it would be a question of whether it was worth it to continue...

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

How many more streetcars are actually in service yet? I remember talk that while we were building and getting more streetcars, the TTC was not actually finding more drivers to actually use them in service at the same time?

    East Don Trail Project

Will be awesome once it and the Meadoway is fully complete: can bike from Toronto Zoo to Harbourfront entirely on trails.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

All the reasons above, and the most behind station is Eglinton/Yonge, which is kinda the most important station in the system. Another reason is when you do partial opens it leaves opportunities for journalists to say its a failure, etc because its slow etc (might not operationally be able to...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Great map, but disappointing how long its taken for them to put another part of track in. Probably the easiest thing in the whole GO Expansion project. How long will electrification take if we go at this pace? 20 years?

    VIA Rail

Im almost certain it was the first one. I took an LRC set out to Montreal with a friend visiting, he loved the train. We took the HEP set back to Toronto and he complained the whole time of headaches and feeling motion sick.

GO Transit Fleet Equipment and other

There is still room to put even way more of these style of racks in, its not an issue of space, just MX decided to stop at this number. Not only that, but its easier to get your bike out when its packed. On the old ones, when it was packed with bikes, and your bike was on the inside near the...
