    Well they did agree to no raises for the next three years, and they are not working most of January. I think they will end up taking a cut. It looks like they are waiting to the bitter end, even though it has arrived.

    I never said that because Toronto has more Homicides thay should be paid more. They should be paid more because of the work load. Private corporations give their employees increases that the public sector hands to their members.

    I think your missing the point. Why should officers have to do that. All Toronto officers should be paid a little more then Peel. Higher work load, Popn, crime, etc...     Toronto has twice the amount of Homicides as Peel does. In NYC they were underpaid for a long time. earlier this year they recieved a new contract. Staring pay is still to low in my books, however they earn a base of 65k but with all the shift differnetials the website says they earn up to 90k.

    That is not the point. Toronto is a more stressful area to work. Therefore Toronto should be compensated more then Peel.

    They dont get 24 weeks of vacation a year. They work a compressed work week, which is 70 hours a week. They work the same amount of hours as everyone else does. Except when others have days off officers are also attending court. You wanna complain, complain about firemen.
