    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Line 3 is elevated north of the Don to Eglinton. It terminates elevated, suggesting the intent would be to extend it further as elevated. https://www.infrastructureontario.ca/en/what-we-do/projectssearch/ontario-line---north-elevated-guideway-and-stations/

As I understand it, Ford has QP sitting far fewer days per year than is the norm.

His caucus can turf him thanks the the Reform Act (thanks Michael Chong).

    PM Mark Carney's Canada

I imagine all the stops will come out to get over the line. Carney really needs a majority to be able to make tough policy decisions. Surely there are a few red Tories that would cross for the good of the country.

If you need 10 vehicles to provide 10 minute frequency and 100 minute route time, then if you can do the same route in 80 minutes, you only need 8 vehicles, 8 operators, etc. to provide the same exact frequency and throughput. Each vehicle in operation travels more km per day, but there are...

    Canada and the World

I hope the Democrats are working on their own version of project 2025--a plan to rapidly smash the legacy of the Trump administration.

In reality, isn't the EU more like greater Germany? The idea that Russia should consider Europe their sphere of influence is kind of laughable. And most of Europe would more readily align with Germany as a power centre than Russia or the US if the US became purely transactional.

The fact that no effort was made to manage the expectations of the public suggests they thought they would get away with this abysmal performance and didn't need to pre-empt calls to improve. People will give grace when you show contrition and intent to improve out of your own initiative and not...

    Telecoms in Canada

If hotspot is limited, what is an unlimited data plan useful for vs a 100,150,200gb plan? Has to be a very niche use case.

Furthermore, the claim was made that it "became apparent" over a year ago that the travel times quoted by Mx were "not possible". Now, that is quite the claim. Not possible, as in, impossible? Against the laws of physics? Or constrained by bureaucracy and regulations? That should have sparked...

It would behoove someone on the board of an organization to educate themselves somewhat about the space that organization operates in. I'm not sure I expect them to become technical experts in that field, but I would try to seek a range of views as it at least helps to equip you to ask the right...

President Donald Trump's United States of America

The only thing more wasteful than mandating the change in font used by an organization is to insist, it having been done, it be changed back. I wonder if Microsoft with be inclined to kowtow to the Trump admin's will and change the Microsoft Office suite default back from Calibri to TNR.

The board meeting was shameful. It suggests that the board needs to invite others to give outside perspectives on how TSP could be used to improve service reliability and speed.

People hate it when it becomes an excuse to make your 3 minute wait to cross an intersection a 6 minute wait because you have to wait for a second cycle.

    LCBO / The Beer Store

Isn't it a criminal offence to knowingly buy stolen goods? Why no criminal charges? Taking away their liquor license seems like a slap on the wrist.

Outrageous. In my line of work, we are frequently sharing experiences, lessons learned, best practices with non-competitive peers. Some are from the other side of the world, but some are in the US.

If the trains operated faster, would it not mean fewer vehicles in operation at any given point in time to deliver a specific frequency? Am I taking crazy pills? The operating cost should be lower. Perhaps more wear and tear per vehicle hour operated, but fewer vehicle hours.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Line 10. Very similar project, but a different operator and transportation department. If Peel/Mississauga is successful with it (whenever it opens), that could help show the way if Toronto can't get its act together.
