    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

In my experience, the Lycra crowd usually rides in the vehicles lanes.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

I find it very hard to believe many voters care much what riding they are a part of.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I think any measures need to be weighed against how much they deter active transportation. Harassing cyclists for going 25 kph in a 20 zone or rolling a stop sign doesn't make anyone materially safer, and making cycling less convenient leads to less active transportation use and associated...

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

A bus every 3 seconds is a bit nonsensical. A bus every 60 seconds would have higher throughput than a general purpose lane. MTO isn't a fiefdom, they answer to politicians.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Ontario had one additional riding added in the federal redistricting. I don't think the riding boundaries changed all that materially as a result. I'm not sure why Ford is so defensive on this matter.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

You only would need them at the bottom of slopes/near crossings. All that said, cars kill and injure many more people than bicycles.

Sounds like $40B in transit spending. Governments can buy a lot of votes with that kind of commitment in other areas.

    Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Pretty breathtaking ignorance on Ford's part. Of course, he's trying to justify himself to low-info voters in his base who probably consume too much US political news via FOX, etc.

You could much more effectively control this by adding a speed hump that posting police there once a year to issue fines. There are traffic calming devices for cyclists as well. https://www.aviewfromthecyclepath.com/2011/11/speedbumps-on-cycle-path.html

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

I don't think there is anything magical about keeping a line on one street. The value is being able to move between destinations quickly, and with few transfers. Straight lines generally help with that, but making people transfer to hit a major destination instead of diverting the line to reach...

    Keir Starmers' United Kingdom

The accused is of course not an asylum seeker or even immigrant, having been born and raised in the UK to Rwandan-born parents.

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

I don't think the BRT is designed for people to ride from Waterdown to Kipling. There is value in just not creating discontinuity.

    Mississauga Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Ford has definitely been eluding accountability for many things, but I rather think he alluded to funding the loop.

I don't think pond blueing dye will stain at dilute concentrations.

    2024 United States presidential election

He's a pretty hateable guy. I get that. But I think that strong dislike blinds people and deprives them of perspective.

    PM Justin Trudeau's Canada

Canada is likely to copy whatever protectionist measures the US adopts wet Chinese OEMs in Mexico. Depending on who wins the presidency. I don't think Kamala is as ride or die for UAW as Biden.

I guess it is a coincidence that Musk was involved in these companies.

    2024 United States presidential election

Credit is for management, not the engineering. He created the organizations that achieved these things. Thousands of engineers and others do the actual design work.

    2024 United States presidential election

Where are all the other capable private launch companies? Why does SpaceX have 85% share of mass to orbit? Blue Origin started before SpaceX and is still dithering. Even after trying to copy them. Imagine if they didn't have the competitive pressure.

Not sure I agree. Tesla has been a big force in the Chinese market and Chinese OEMs benchmark themselves against Tesla.
