I have been told they need to put sprinklers in units where the building abuts the property line with another building. It's to try an minimize a fire spreading to the building that we are attached to.

The elevators are not in the area being used to lift materials. It is approximately in the middle on the north/south axis, and west of the centre on the east/west axis.

Could be that the white we see is a protective tape, removed once the heavier construction is done ?
