Very happy to see a building with cladding that contrasts with the sea of green and blue of CityPlace.

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Is there any indication from the Finch LRT opening day that Crosstown will be slower than projected in the underground sections, i.e. factors other than transit priority signal?

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I suspect yesterday's reaction to the speed, combined with the Crosstown's expected slow speed in the at-grade sections next year, will create enough pressure for the TTC to make improvements, including transit signal priority.

    Toronto 19 Bloor West | 319.4m | 99s | Reserve Properties | Arcadis

I'm happy it won't block the views from the west of its far superior neighbor next-door.

    Toronto Eaton Centre (Ongoing Renewal) | ?m | ?s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Great observation. Eaton Centre does need more seating. Yorkdale and Square One could too, but they still have noticeably more than Eaton Centre, particularly benches in the corridors. I suspect CF's rationale is concern about loitering and security.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Somewhat reassuring, via Chris Drew on X: "Elected leaders I spoke with today agree with the need for more speed."

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Miller-era Transit City plan stipulate transit priority?

The World Cup games that Toronto is hosting, via Ben Steiner on X. The Germany and Croatia games will get a lot of international attention, with both being strong European sides. There is a chance Toronto could host powerhouses England or Portugal in the Round of 32 if either is a runner-up...

Spaces (former WE Charity HQs, 345 Queen St E, TriAxis, 3s, Kohn Partnership)

Thanks, NL. I didn't know it was designated. It's telling that arguably the best run board in the city can't even do housing right.

Obligatory "Can we build housing on top of it?!?!" question.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Another question, in line with what @nightstreak asked. Do we anticipate that Line 5 and Line 6 will reduce car congestion on Highway 401, as some intra-city, east/westbound travelers move to transit?

    PM Mark Carney's Canada

One sign of just how low environment is in Carney's priorities is the invisibility of the Minister of Environment, Toronto MP Julie Dabrusin. Compared to Steven Guilbeault or Catherine McKenna, she has a very low profile (she's a solid MP, otherwise).

    Return to office discussion

I heard through the grapevine that my employer might pause our 3 days a week RTO policy during the FIFA World Cup, in anticipation of traffic chaos. I wonder if other employers will do the same?
