It totally did. Right on the tracks. But in subsequent shots you can see it has been moved back off.

Good to see the mayor highways have reopened and not just the major ones.

The whole article is so alarmist. Just goofy. Take this line for instance: The scenes were harrowing. Really? Harrowing? People intentionally drove their car into waist deep water that was completely still and then they had to walk out or be walked out by a fireman. About as...

Great shots of waters around Lemon & Cherry. I forget the scale of the river always looking at it from the drone. It really is big. Seeing the guy in the boat puts it in perspective. I guess all that debris floats so it's relatively easy to clean up, but will they have to eventually dredge...

This morning. The water has all completely drained back into the river. Lots of mud everywhere still, but DVP fully open. Bayview still closed but getting cleaned up. Just lots of mud still. Not sure if GO/VIA still closed, probably as they check the tracks to make sure it's all okay...

Speaking of, was Evergreen Brickworks flooded yesterday? Any pics? I remember walking though there things like power outlets etc are all mounted 5 feet up the walls and some original pillars have a red line on them showing how high a flood they expect to roll through there every few decades...

Counterpoint... A flood like this happens maybe every 5 years or so (in the 25 years i've been down here) and it really doesn't cause any lasting property damage to anything except the cars that are willfully driven into the water. So... just let if flood every now and then. It's impassable...

Dumb question... For any insurance folks in this thread, if you knowingly drive your car into a huge flooded road what type of claim will that be? This was not a flash flood where unsuspecting motorists were hit with a wall of water. These people just drove straight into the ponds. Kind of...

Here's a genuine question (not being snarky) why were NONE of the big massive red plastic gates that they installed a few years ago (and are huge eye sores) not in use today? None were closed. Just orange pylons across the road right were the open gates stood. If not for this event, what are...

Well this is the river level at Gerrard Street Bridge at 1:15PM. Just snapped these myself. It's all headed down to the PLUG. Wouldn't be surprised if it overtops it. But who knows, maybe Keating Channel can handle it all.

Okay so that is officially the biggest test of the Lower Don Lands flooding yet. Let's see some pictures!!! Is the river out of its banks? What's it look like?

Took a shot of St. James Town yesterday for our ongoing "How dense do we want the Lower Don Lands to be?" discussion.

Dumb question.... My stove burns natural gas inside. It doesn't pollute the house. So why would Portlands Energy Centre which runs on natural gas be a polluter? (And if you're going to say, "Actually your stove is polluting your house you just don't realize it...." You're missing my point. I...

Wow the old colours on the top of the smokestack are some serious nightmare fuel. Feels evil.

A tall enough smokestack solves any pollution problem. Just got to get it into the troposphere and the wind carries it away! ;)
