    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

This LinkedIn post from the CEO of Toronto Global includes some models of Villiers that are new to me. Maybe they're new to you too? Apologies if these are old news!

    Eastern Avenue Bridge/DVP Interchange

I'm astounded anyone could be hearing about this for the first time.

It would be a dream to have food options like this without having to go 'outside' from your condo. Looking great so far!

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Sigh. That curb means it'll be used constantly for stops and as a turning lane. Hopefully more separation is coming!

Great photo from Reddit (not as good as hawc's drone shots, but still cool):

I agree that it'll be nearly impossible to retrofit a stop at Cherry. The failure is in several places: 1. The initial design that didn't put a station here 2. The resulting path that will prevent a future station here

The missing Cherry St. stop on the Ontario Line is not only a huge hit for the future residents of the island, but also for the massive tourist/visitor count that will want to see a properly dense and walkable and well designed neighbourhood/parks. Not to mention whatever the rest of the Port...

Alex's post RIGHT before yours shared the same stats. As does the article. He specifies between what portion of the land is buildable and what is not. The map that you made was incorrect. Your assertion that his entire article should be dismissed as a result is laughable. Laughable statements...

Because he said 24 hectares instead of the 22 from your custom made-up map? 😆

I find the night lighting underwhelming in the photos (haven't been in-person yet). It could just be that the areas don't photograph well at night, but there are large, dark areas and the ceiling should be lit up more to show it off. Visiting the Highline and Hudson Yards and there is so much...

Thanks for replying with reasonable arguments and for not being needlessly sensationalist.

Sigh OK, I'll respond to some of your comments, but only because I'm unemployed :) First of all, I'm no planner, just a bitter renter. When I suggested 25k, it was a pipe dream. It's what I wish to see in the neighbourhood. If you suggest you are pragmatic and balanced, you MUST admit calling...

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

You're great at painting a grim picture but every reason you cited not to build high density here has easy and reasonable solutions. Yes there is a dirth of greenspace in Toronto, especially in areas that are densifying quick like downtown, but access to the islands and Tommy Thomson Park could...

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

We have a very under-utilized Toronto Island Park and Tommy Thompson Park nearby to accomplish what you're asking. It would be a 'waste of infrastructure' if we built all this and let it naturalize. Instead, think of the taxbase that will be built in the coming decades. It will pay for itself...
