Folks'll start moving in later this month. The hoarding on Avenue has been down for a while exposing the intriguing "split-level" retail area. You can now catch glimpses of the sculptural staircase in the lobby.
I was hoping Sotto Sotto would somehow become a tenant. No such luck...
Besides the new condos going up in the area, are there any other big factors contributing to the change in rents?
Looks like they're planning to put a coffee shop in one the retail units. There's already 3 or 4 coffee shops within a block of the building. All independent. I wonder if it'll be a Starbucks.
The neighbourhood could probably use a few more buildings of Pears's height esp along Avenue Road. It's a terrific location that will benefit from greater density. The intersection of Ave and Dav has so much potential for growth.
A little patience is in order as the white steel frames aren't up yet. That's the visual element meant to catch the eye here. The grey you're talking about will be the backdrop.
I walked by today and they've started putting up some cladding on the northeast end of the mezzanine. It looks like a grey bluish glass with frosted panels of a light grey.
They are moving up at about 1 floor a week. At that rate they will top out around Canada Day! Here's an update from the builder:
